I have been talking with people who have been churched most of their life but it doesn’t necessarily mean they have a relationship with Jesus or they know the basics of Christianity.
I talked with a churched man who told me “God made Abraham a God.”
I talked with a woman who said that it was ok for her daughter to have an abortion because God would send the baby back to her when she was “ready.”
I have been meeting with a wonderful woman who taught Sunday School for many years and she just informed me that when she dies she is going to get a new body and gets to try again.
Wow, reincarnation aka Sunday School style. She and I are going to meet again and discuss why humans get only one life to live and we must accept the truth of Jesus Christ in this lifetime. We don’t get another go at it.
She asked me if I thought it was too late for her.
Too late? “Nope” I said, “As long as you have breath in your lungs it is never too late to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior.”
Pastors, never assume that just because your people are “churched” they have “truth.” Ask them! You might get as many surprises as I have.
